Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) is an engineering design competition which brings together students from all over the world to a series of grand prix. Here, students are assessed on all aspects of the project, from the way budget was made to the design specifics of the race car itself.
University of Malta Racing (UOMR) is Malta’s very own Formula SAE team, based in the University of Malta. Founded in 2012, UOMR has competed in the 2014, 2015, and 2018 seasons with 3 different cars. The team competed in Imeche’s FS2021 Concept Class in 2021 and is currently working on the 4th car. UOMR is a recognised University of Malta Senate, student based voluntary organisation, which serves to provide a platform for collaboration within the university.
Everyone enrolled in the University of Malta is invited to join the team and help out in any way they can. Membership is open to anyone who would like to contribute to any of the disciplines related to designing, financing, managing and building this project. This is what makes us an inter-faculty and inter-disciplinary team.
